What you need:
1) Yellow Plate
2) Yellow Feathers or Multi-colored feathers
3) Yellow Foam
4) White Pom Pom
5) Google Eyes

8) Large Popsicle Stick
9) Pink Felt

What to do:
1) Glue large Popsicle stick onto back of plate
2) Glue feathers all over the front of the plate
3) Glue white pom poms on for eyes and then put google eyes on top of white pom poms
4) Cut a beak out of yellow foam the lower beak should be bigger than the upper beak
5) Use red foam to form inner mouth
6) Use pink felt as a tongue
7) Let dry

March Puppet Craft

What you need:
* Sock
* Piece of cardboard
* Scissors
* Hot Glue Gun (Parents use only)
* Google Eyes
* Fabric
* Other decorations

What to do:
* Cut the toe out of the sock a half inch in
* Cut a oval out of the cardboard. Cereal boxes work well for this
* Stick the oval into the sock all the way to the tip cut out area, making sure that the heal is facing toward the ceiling
* Fold oval in half like a mouth and then have parents hot glue edges of the sock to the oval.
* Pick out the decorations you want to use for your puppet.
* Use cloth for clothes, Pipe cleaners for antennae, fabric for tongues, and foam pieces for making teeth or spines. Use imagination to design what ever you want to do.

February Heart Magnet

What you need:
* Cardboard
* Scissors
* Heart word candies
* Glue
* Two different colored pieces of paper
* Paper Doiley
* Magnet

What to do:
* Have parents cut a heart out of the cardboard. Cereal boxes work great for this craft.
* Cut a heart out of one color of paper the size of the cardboard.
* Cut a second heart smaller than the first heart
* Cut a third heart smaller than the second heart out of the doiley
* Glue them all onto the front of the cardboard in order of largest to smallest being in the middle
* Take and glue candy word hearts along perimeter of the largest heart.
* Let dry and then attach magnet to back of heart.

Christmas Pot Sitter

What you need:
*Small Clay Pot
*Fresh Greens
*Ribbon For Bow
*Floral Oasis For In Pot
*Floral Wire
*Foil (or Aluminum foil)
*Fake berries & other shiny materials

What to do:
* Cut small piece of oasis big enough to fit into the clay pot and soak in water. Wrap with foil or put aluminum foil around it
* Place piece of oasis into pot. Then taking a pencil or something with a point poke holes into the top of the oasis.
* Take the greens and shove them into the oasis in the holes you just made. Fill pot with different greens.
* Take and make a small bow with ribbon and to attach the bow to the clay pot wrap with wire and stick into the pot.
* Can also use fake berries and other decorations to add color to the pot

Turkey Craft

What you need:
* Large Pine Cone
* 3 1/2" Clay Pot
* Orange Foam Paper
* Brown Foam Paper
* Red Foam Paper
* Yellow Foam Paper
* Black Felt
* Feathers
* Google Eyes
* Cup

What to do:
1. Take and place pine cone into clay pot so that point side of pine cone is facing up towards the sky like a Christmas tree.
2. Take the brown foam paper and place a cup upside down and use as a stencil to make a round circle for the head of the turkey.
3. Use the orange foam paper to make a triangle for the beak and also to make two feet
4. Use the red foam paper to make a waddle for the turkey.
5. Cut out a hat with the black felt
6. Glue the eyes, nose, waddle and hat to the brown head
7. Set the head aside
8. Take and glue the two foam feet to the bottom of the pot so that the feet are sticking out a little bit from under the pot
9. Take and with the yellow foam cut out two wings
10. Glue the yellow wings to the side of the pine cone
11. Take and glue the feathers on the back of the pine cone
12. Take and after letting dry a little bit, glue the head onto the pine cone
13. Let everything dry

Leaf Print Shirts

What You Need:
* White T-Shirt or Colored T-Shirt
* Leaves in all shapes & sizes
* Shirt Paint
* Paper Plates
* Paint Brushes

What to do:
* Take and squeeze paint onto a plate
* Take leaf and dip one side into paint or you can paint the paint on with paint brushes
* Take and put the painted side of the leaf onto the shirt and push down hard
* Lift up leaf and go onto another leaf
* Let shirt dry 24 hours before wearing
* Sometimes paint seeps through to other side of shirt you can prevent this by placing a piece of newspaper or even a garbage bag on the inside of the shirt while its laying flat.

Have your parents or guardian email or send them through the mail to the garden center. Attention Holly. We will then post them on our new Kidz Club Gardening Picture Board. Have fun looking at other pictures of children just like you working in their gardens.

Pine Cone Bird Feeder

What you need:

Large Pine Cone
Bird Seed
Peanut Butter
String
Plastic Knife
Plastic dish

What to do:

Tie string to pine cone as a hanger
Take plastic knife and spread peanut butter all over pine cone. Including bottom and top
Pour the bird seed into the plastic dish
Take and put your peanut butter covered pine cone in the dish with the bird seed and roll it around. Make sure that everything is covered
Then hang outside for birds to enjoy

Fairy Garden

Shallow Container (saucer or flat dish)
Succulent flowers (flowers that stay small)
Small saucer/bowl for a pond
Soil
Sticks
Rocks
Craft supplies or your hearts desire for decorations

Fill container will soil and plant flowers. Arrange saucer for pond. Place sticks/rocks or decorations as you wish. Watch the fairy's come and play!

Critter Flower Pot

What you need:
3 inch clay pot -Soil
Giggly Eyes -Glue
PomPoms -Pipe Cleaners
Pansy, or your choice of flowers

Place soil in pot, plant flower. Glue on eyes and pompom (nose). Bend Pipe cleaner in half, glue a pompom ball on each end for feet. Place bent pipe cleaner in hole of bottom of pot.

Easter Basket Craft

Fill basket with soil and add plants. Use Easter grass to cover soil. Finish with Easter decorations.

Turkey Pine Cone Craft

What you need:

Large Pine Cone
Feathers
Glue
Colored Foam Paper
Felt
Google Eyes

What to do:

Place pine cone on side
Front end is where the head goes and the back end is where the feathers go
Use as many feathers as you want sticking up in back
Cut a foam head out and place the google eyes on either side of it
Cut feet out of felt and place on bottom of pine cone

Popsicle Stick Planter

Popsicle Stick Planter

What you need:

Popsicle Sticks
Glue
Soil
Pansy

What to do:

First take and lay two Popsicle Sticks and lay them so that one end is facing you and the other end is facing away from you and that they are a Popsicle Stick Length apart
Take and put glue all along the top flat surface of both Popsicle sticks.
Take and making a base you want to put a Popsicle stick so it is on top of the two other Popsicle sticks but make it as close to the ends as possible.
What your going to do is line up Popsicle sticks along the top of the two Popsicle sticks so they form a base. Look at picture above.
When that is done you will start building the walls by taking and going putting one Popsicle stick on the edge of the base on either side and then going on another layer the opposite direction. Look at picture above.
You want to go high enough that you can fit a plant into the planter.
After done let dry.
Then take and place some soil in bottom of planter, add your plant and then place more soil around the sides of the plant.
Water on a trickle every couple of days.
If using a pansy place in full sun.

Butterfly Mobile Craft

What you need:

4 Coffee Filters
4 Clothes Pins
Clothes Hanger
Fishing Line
Markers
Water

What to do:

Take and color all four coffee filters with marker
Spray the coffee filters with water and let dry
Once dry pinch in the middle and place into clothes pins
Take and tie fishing line through clothes pin and tie to hanger in four different spots
Using the hook for the hanger hang right side up

Grass Head Craft

Grass Heads

What you need:
1. Bottom Foot Part Of Nylons
2. Grass Seed
3. Potting Soil
4. Google Eyes
5. Other Decorations
6. Bowl
7. Water

What to do:
1. Take and put 2 handfuls of grass seed inside nylon
2. Fill nylon with potting soil making a ball
3. Tie off the end of the nylon with a knot after done filling
4. Grass seed side is up and the tied end is down
5. Decorate with google eyes and other decorations
6. Place in a shallow bowl
7. Water once a day or when dry and place in a sunny window
8. Grass will sprout in 7-10 days

Stepping Stones

Stepping Stones:

What you need:
1. Stepping Stone frame which can be bought at Hobby Lobby or Michaels
2. Quikrette Vinyl Concrete Patcher 40 lb bag
3. Cardboard
4. Water
5. Stepping Stone letters which can be bought at Hobby Lobby or Michaels
6. Mosaic tiles
7. Something to mix concrete in
8. Rubber gloves
9. Flat surface outside

What to do:
1. Have parents take and mix concrete with water. Concrete should be thick enough that it does not stick to sides of container easily. Do not make to watery or the stepping stone will take extra long to dry.
2. Place the stepping stone form onto the cardboard.
3. Scoop concrete into the form using a cup or old cottage cheese containers work well.
4. Level the concrete in the form. Leave form on while putting letters on and mosaic tiles.
5. Let sit for a couple minutes.
6. If you have letters that you want to use in the concrete get them ready while you let the concrete set for a few minutes.
7. Place the stepping stone letters onto the concrete and push down on them. Pull out and it will leave the letter.
8. If you mess up take and flatten out surface of concrete and do again.
9. Place mosaic tiles in the concrete.
10. When done pull form off. Do not move stepping stone for a few hours.
11. Let stepping stone dry for 48 hours.
12. If outside cover with plastic garbage bag to keep moisture in.
13. After 48 hours can remove from the cardboard and put outside.

Pine Cone (Bagel Craft)

We didn't have any pine cones but we used bagels instead.

What you need:

Bagel
Peanut Butter
Bird Seed
String
Butter Knife or Plastic Knife
Paper Plates

What to do:

Take and push string through center hole in bagel.
Your using the string for your hanger.
Taking the knife spread peanut butter all over the bagel.
Make sure you spread peanut butter on thick so bird seed will stick
Next dump some bird seed onto the paper plates.
Lay your bagel in the bird seed and take handfuls and put it on top of the bagel.
Make sure bagel is covered with bird seed.
Take and hang in a tree.

Variation is to use pine cones and spread peanut butter all over the pine cones and then dip the pine cones in bird seed. Either way works.

Pet Rocks

What you need:

Small Rock

You can also use feather's, glitter, sequins, and any other objects you choose

What to do:

Take and paint the rock what ever colors you want
You can paint a face, make an animal, what ever your imagination can come up with
If glue does not work on making the eyes or the pipe cleaner stick, you can have your parents use the hot glue gun.

Small Bird Bath Craft

How To Make This Craft

What you need:

Small Clay Pot
Acrylic Paint
Paint Brush
Small Plastic Saucer or Clay Saucer
Hot Glue Gun (Parents Use Only)
Any Other Decorations

What to do:

Take the clay pot and turn it upside down so that the bottom is facing up.
Paint the clay pot any color you want and add decorations.
If using a clay saucer top you can paint the outside of the saucer, but do not paint the inside of the saucer. (Birds can become sick from the paint.)
The bottom of the saucer and the bottom of the clay pot need to be hot glued together. (Have your parents do this so you don't get hurt.)
Can use the bird bath outside with water in it or you can turn it into a bird feeder. Instead of putting water in it put bird seed in it.

What it's about!

Open to kids ages 5-12 years old

Events once a month for the kids

(Most events are free unless otherwise specified)

Newsletters once every two months through the mail

They will receive a Kidz Club Card through the mail that they can get scanned each time they come to an event

After so many scans will receive a coupon in the mail to redeem at the store

(Once signed up they will receive a list of what they get after the different levels of scans)

Birthday cards with a coupon to be redeemed in the month of their Birthday at the store

To sign up all the parents have to do is e-mail me (Holly)

Each child received a pot that had 3 different pieces of paper to color with different designs. After coloring the paper they inserted it into a plastic cover that went over the plastic pot. They then planted it up and took it home for their mothers.
